Vertex’s international region is responsible for many countries across the globe, from Iceland to Australia, and from Brazil to Sweden.
This dynamic growth continues, and the International Revenue Accounting Team is critical to enable and support this growth.
The role is responsible for partnering with our outsourced Order to Cash providers (3PLs), Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Market Access and Pricing and Commercial teams to effectively manage our sales operations.
The role provides maternity cover on a fixed term contract basis.
Key to your success is the continuous improvement of business support and partnering, internal process improvement and proactive thinking and organisation skills around how the growth of the business, product reimbursement and revenues impact our 3PL operations.
You will have direct line management responsibility for 1 direct report, an Accountant responsible the effective and timely set-up of new customer accounts, maintenance of existing customer accounts, customer credit assessment and review of customer data for completeness and accuracy to support invoicingAs the International Revenue Accounting Manager - Outsourced Services, you Partner with the commercial business, 3PLs and supply chain team in the management of our outsourced sales operational procedures, to include but not limited to the following key areas of responsibility:Customer set-upCustomer master data maintenanceOrder processingInvoicingDelivery trackingReturnsReporting - internal and externalPricing set-up and maintenanceMarket set-up and maintenanceYou are extremely well organised and able to prioritise several competing deadlines and commitments enabling you to manage product launch readiness activities for multiple markets and products in the international region.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:Management of escalated customer queries from 3PLs and Vertex’s commercial organization, appropriately liaising with the 3PLs and Vertex stakeholders to ensure timely resolutionDrive increased performance from our outsourced providers; through set-up of SLA’s and monitoring performance through effective KPIsSupport the Business Support, Finance and Supply Chain teams and Vertex’s commercial organization with the review of operational requirements for new reimbursement and distribution agreements and new product launches.
Lead the development and implementation of new operational policies and procedures with the 3PLs to support commercial requirements.
Work with 3PL on statutory and negotiated sales requirements, to ensure these are implemented and effectively managed to ensure continued complianceEnsure all processes being performed by the 3PLs are adequately controlled and compliant with Vertex’s controls framework and SOXWorking with Vertex’s Market Access and Pricing teams, manage the set-up of pricing with 3PLs to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to 3rd parties at all times.
Continuously review processes being performed by the 3PLs and seek out opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Ensure processes in place are appropriate and scalable to support Vertex’s International growth ambitionsLiaise with Vertex GIS team and outsourced partners, to review technology to support development of stronger analytics and reporting capabilities.
Develop insightful analytics to support business decisions and reporting to senior management and regional Finance Directors.
Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for internal and external process controls, working with the Revenue Accounting Team to identify areas for process improvement.
Preparation of documentation to support key O2C SOX requirements and deal with audit requests for both SOX and statutory audits as requiredAssist with internal and external audit queriesSupport month-end close activities as requiredDirect management and development of Revenue AssociateTrain, coach and develop direct reportKnowledge and Skills:Significant experience working in a revenue accounting relevant role with proven business partnering skills within a 3PL operations management environmentRecognise when to leverage your internal support network in a matrix organisation in order to best support your internal customersExcellent communication skills to facilitate professional, clear and effective communication across all levels, cross site and with key external stakeholdersProfessional attitude with a proactive and flexible approachAdaptable to change and ability to work well under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detailPositive and can-do attitudeEstablished record of managing multiple and competing prioritiesGood Excel skills, Oracle experience an advantageExperience of working in a multinational company, a pharmaceutical / Bio Tech background an advantageEuropean language an advantageAn independent problem solverEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree preferable#LI-JR1
