About the jobInterview date: Tuesday 08 September 2020Working within the Photography Department, the Subject area of Art and Design and FAST, this role is responsible for providing outstanding teaching and learning primarily of photography for all areas of photographic practice at undergraduate and graduate level.
Successful candidates will undertake teaching, assessment and delivery within our BA (Hons) Photography, and proposed MA Photography courses.
This also includes delivery in studio, workshops, and online with one-to-one and group delivery; leading seminars and group critiques; working on live industry projects; supporting student participation in competitions and events; related administrative duties; research and a personal tutoring role.

About youThe University of Northampton is seeking an academic with an established profile as a photographic practitioner to join our thriving, innovative course.
Applicants should hold a BA Degree and an MA or equivalent within the broad field of photography and have professional experience.
You will have a good understanding of the technical requirements of creative photographic production, and an up-to-date awareness of current trends, theories and critical debates informing contemporary photographic practice in both commercial and arts-based practice.
You should be experienced professionally with studio and location photography, exhibition production, book production and moving image for photography.
Software skills should include Photo shop, In-design, Capture-One, Premier-Pro and other relevant software.
Successful applicants will have engaged extensively in recent publishing and/or exhibiting practice using photography.
It is expected that you have experience of delivering a first-class student experience within a higher education environment.
Essential qualifications:Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject areaMaster's degree in relevant subjectProfessional Recognition as HEA Associate/Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescaleDesirable qualification:Doctorate in relevant subject, or in process of completionFacultySituated in the Faculty of Arts Science and Technology the Subject area of Art and Design resides primarily in its new Creative Hub building of specialist studios, resources and workshops.
The Photography Department is comprehensively supported and resourced with a broad based ethos and approach to all aspects of contemporary photographic practice.
