Hestia Wandsworth Domestic Abuse Service is an accommodation-based services supporting women and children fleeing domestic and other gender-based violence. The service aims to provide safe, temporary and supported accommodation for vulnerable women and children fleeing domestic abuse and to offer respite and safeguarding from further abuse and provide support for the emotional and physical needs of women and children fleeing domestic abuse. We also aim to assist women in securing move on accommodation for the future and to develop recreational and learning facilities for women and children during their stay with us. We are a passionate and dedicated team who are all committed to providing the highest quality of service possible. We are constantly evaluating our work in partnership with our service users to ensure that we maintain quality and that the women and children we support are truly at the heart of everything we do.

Person specification: -Excellent knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children -Experience of promoting and developing service user involvement/co production. -Ability to manage staff -Experience of working within a multi-agency setting. -Awareness of risks associated with domestic violence in a working environment. -Knowledge of legal, statutory, regulatory and good practice requirements applicable to the provision of supported housing. -Working knowledge of the relevant housing law and welfare benefits that apply to women and children using the service. -Knowledge of legal remedies available to women experiencing domestic violence. -Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client details -Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and ability to manage complex tasks in clearly defined time frames (including accurate records, reports, case notes and interpersonal communication) -To participate in the out of hours emergency on-call rota -Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.

Location: Wandsworth
Salary: 28,296 per annum
Hours: 39 (all Managers may need to undertake on call duties during out of hours, for which they will be remunerated in addition to their salary).
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm / Flexi working hours (core hours 10am 4pm)

This includes victims of modern slavery, women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, young care leavers and older people. From giving someone a home, to helping them to get the right mental health support, we support people at the moment of crisis and enable them to build a life beyond crisis. We are supported by more than 460 volunteers who provide specialist skills such as art therapy yoga, IT, gardening, cooking as well as befriending and fundraising.
