An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to undertake the role of Hearings & Meetings Administrative Officer within the Professional Standards Department, currently based at FHQ for 37hrs.
This will be a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to assist in Police Officer conduct hearings and meetings, supporting the Hearings Manager, liaising with presenting counsels and federation representatives, preparing hearing bundles, acting as an usher for witnesses, recording and annotating proceedings. This administrative activity will not be routine and the successful candidate will need to be aware of the impact any error may have on a case. The post holder will have a key role to play in the quality and timeliness of proceedings to enhance the service provided by the Professional Standards Department.
The successful candidate will be expected to deputise in the absence of the Hearings Manager and be pivotal in keeping abreast of changes in legislation directly affecting officer conduct proceedings.
Any candidate will need to evidence the following essential criteria: -
Ability to correctly interpret and record police information.
Ability to communicate at a high level, both orally and written.
Ability to oversee and run a professional team and office.
Ability and desire to deliver a first class service to the public and officers across Kent.
Also it is desirable for the candidate to evidence the following: -
Have a good understanding of the Conduct Regulations and Complaints Legislation.
Ability to work effectively with partner agencies at different stages throughout any investigation.
Ability to manage risk.
This role would suit a highly organised and motivated individual who can bring their skills and experience in to this position.
