An exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Ophthalmic Technician has arisen within the Glaucoma Unit at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust on a 12 month fixed term basis. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, highly motivated and adaptable person who is committed to providing the highest standards of care for our patients.
The Glaucoma team is made up of Registered Practitioners and Technicians and is overseen by our Glaucoma Lead nurse and Consultant Ophthalmologists who provide supervision and support to this service. Together the team provides 12,000 outpatient appointments per year.
The post holder will assist in providing care for patients with glaucoma, ocular hypertension and patients monitored as a glaucoma suspect. We provide outpatient services primarily at our Heavitree hospital site but also within the West of England Eye Unit at Wonford and in community hospital settings.
The post holder will be flexible, able to manage own workload and adapt to the changing requirements of the service as it develops. The role will be based at our Heavitree location but the post holder will be required to occasionally work at the locations stated above.
The hours of work are:
37.5hours per week -over4 days with the possibility of weekends
