This role sits within the People and Culture stream of the Water Networks Transformation Programme. The person will work alongside the People and Culture lead supporting the detailed design and pilot stages of the programme, right through to implementation

For internal candidates, this would be a secondment until March 2021 at the earliest, with potential to extend or be assigned to a similar role in WNTX for the implementation phase.

The role will involve:

  • To work with the People and Culture Transformation Lead on the HR and Culture plan to deliver the required outcomes, taking the lead on defined areas.
  • Work closely with the specialist HR teams, helping to facilitate workshops across the business to support the development of key activities i.e. development of incentivisation plans.
  • To work with the teams on organisational design, applying best practise principles
  • Analysis of HR data to support the programme and also to understand potential people risks
  • Development of role profiles, RAPIDs, and ensuring KPIs and objectives link to the required business outcomes.
  • Support the development of technical and behavioural competencies for roles within the Water Networks Business
  • Proactively challenge current practises, and making recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Design programmes of activity in the different workstreams and understand the HR implications of the potential changes, and the independencies and complications
  • Manage a TUPE process from conception through to implementation
  • Work with the unions as required
  • Preparation of materials to support the consultation process
  • Work closely with the Cultural Lead to support the delivery of the cultural transformation
  • Link in closely with change agents to support the transformation, leading by example
  • Coach and mentor managers through the process so they clearly understand the role they play
  • Embed a change methodology culture within the team
  • Developing and training our people to be able to role model and lead change
  • Coach, and mentor managers

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • An experienced HR professional with experience in people and change projects
  • Project management experience within a change environment
  • Experience in organisational design
  • Experience of TUPE and managing large and potentially complex insourcing activities
  • Experience of working in a large complex environment with lots of ambiguity
  • Experience in cultural change
  • A demonstrable project delivery capability and commercially aware along with having a strong analytical mindset and the ability to use tools to manipulate and present data
  • Understanding how employees and individuals react to change and have demonstrated how you have supported managers and employees through this change
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across a diverse set of internal stakeholders and the wider HR team to achieve a common goal
  • Able to work through complex issues and demonstrate understanding of the detail whilst understanding the bigger picture.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership for seeing a deliverable through to completion. Effective at identifying issues early and escalating these appropriately
  • Prioritises effectively in a high-pressure, uncertain environment to deliver stable performance
