Seeking an exceptional EA / Finance Assistant to support our Executive Editor, Freddie Sayers and the wider office team.
We’re a dynamic, fast-paced multi-platform digital publisher of news and opinion called UnHerd.
We launched in 2017 with a double mission to challenge ‘herd mentality’ wherever it appears, asking the difficult questions and questioning the consensus; and to provide a platform for ‘unheard’ ideas, people and places that are too often ignored by the mainstream media.
Our website has over 2m reader visits a month and we’re one of the fastest growing (if not the fastest growing) alternative news platforms, delivering online, via our own YouTube interview channel (which has over 100k subscribers and millions of monthly views), and our ‘Confessions’ podcast.
As a fast-paced, growing multi-media news organisation, with multiple big projects in the pipeline, we urgently need professional support to help us ensure we stay on top of the operational and organisational aspects of our innovative business.
We want to hire an experienced EA who ideally has financial experience.
Someone who is highly literate and able to capture tone and nuance to deal with correspondence.
Someone who will be able to take responsibility for organising the various aspects of office life - everything from diary management, elementary book-keeping and banking reconciliation, through to managing the operational elements of running a small company: for example organising office insurance, some HR and managing the Executive Editor’s extremely busy diary and inbox.
This person will be experienced and capable around technology, office systems, including some knowledge of accounting software like Quickbooks.
They should be ‘can-do’, proactive and able to think beyond an instruction and able to anticipate.
Someone 'fizzing with ideas', who will turn their hand to anything.
The role is full time and will be based in our offices in Victoria, although an office move to Westminster is being planned next year.
