An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Commissioning Finance Management Accounting team for a Senior Commissioning Management Accountant. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to join us who is willing to go that extra mile and to be part of a successful and effective management accounting team.

Outline of post
The individual would report into the Finance Manager and should also have the ability and confidence to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
The main duties will include, but are not limited to;
- Working in the Management Accounts team to provide financial management support and advice to commissioners and directors,
- Taking an active role in month end accounts by taking ownership of a number of service areas and successfully completing necessary transactions adhering to set deadlines,
- Producing finance reports that accurately reflect income and expenditure,
- Meeting regularly with budget holders and managers within the CCGs to present, explain and discuss budget reports and relevant financial issues and financial performance pertaining to their service areas.
- Line management of a Financial Management Assistant.
This role involves extensive use of Microsoft Excel so it is expected that the successful candidate will have advanced Excel skills. They will need to be competent in creating, and using, formulae and PIVOT tables; additionally there is an opportunity to take an active role in developing and improving the team’s use of spreadsheets. The current finance package is Oracle.
Potential candidates will ideally be AAT qualified or equivalent and have relevant experience gained within an NHS setting. Experience of line management would also be preferred. Candidates without NHS experience who indicate a high level of relevant transferable skills and experience in their application may also be considered.
