Post No. SSCF0231 - Social Worker - Family & Friends
We are looking to recruit a social worker to cover maternity leave within the family and friends team, where you will specialise in working with kinship foster carers and special guardians. Your role will require you to be the supervising social worker for all kinship foster carers and this will include providing regular supervision, support and guidance. You will be required to complete all annual reviews and ensure all the family are fully supported. You will play a crucial role in working with children placed with family or friends and their carers to ensure the placements are well supported.
Your role will also include the completion of assessments including regulation 26 assessments, viability assessments and connected persons assessments where appropriate. You will also be required to be part of a duty rota to cover any issues arising with active cases within the team.
You will have excellent assessment skills and the ability to engage with service users effectively, with a focus on the safety and wellbeing of children. You will be skilled in developing and sustaining effective multi-agency working across a range of professional groups. You will be involved in the development of the new team and will be highly motivated, focused on providing high quality, timely and effective assessments with children and families and have good organisational and time management skills. You will be part of a highly supportive environment and have good access to training and development opportunities.

For this role you will be a practitioner with a professional social work qualification, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent and deliver a quality service to meet the assessed needs of children and young people.
You must be registered with Social Care Wales.
