EMEA Statutory Accounting Manager

Job Description: Position Summary:
The EMEA Statutory Accounting Manager has responsibility for the timely
preparation and completion of the statutory accounts in line with local
GAAP in all EMEA countries. The successful candidate will be working
with the external auditors and ensuring that any issues are discussed and
remediated timely.
This role is a key position within the Finance Team and reports directly to
the EMEA Financial Controller.
It is ideally suited for qualified accountants with a practice background.
Responsibilities:
Managing 2 direct reports
Own and manage the filing of statutory accounts for 25 entities
across Europe
Produce local statutory accounts in collaboration with the in-country
external firms
US GAAP to local GAAP bridge preparation on an annual basis
Monitoring permanent and temporary statutory adjustments
Monitoring progress on local compliance and improving turnaround
time on all teams involved in the reporting schedule
Provide excellent technical accounting advice through accounting
papers.
Statutory accounts review, castings, references to working papers
on an annual basis
Arranging meetings/calls to understand, clarify and document the
local compliance requirements and confirm timetables with incountry providers and auditors
Working together with and supporting the GL team and the tax team
with various audit queries
Audit files maintenance, documentation filing and archiving
Permanent files and audit files creation and maintenance
Liaison with auditors and in country providers for the preparation,
audit, signing and submission of statutory accounts
Working closely with the external audit teams to ensure the delivery
of the statutory audit in timeline agreed
Liaising with in-country providers and internal departments for
preparation and signature of various powers of attorney and
engagement letters and monitoring their validity
Any other ad hoc work or projects.

Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA, or ACCA) with experience in practice
advantageous
Minimum 2 years management experience
Relevant exposure to statutory reporting preferably within a similar
role, ideally with a mix of practice and in house experience.
Strong systems skills with preference given to those candidates with
CaseWare knowledge and experience
Strong Excel skills
Able to demonstrate strong IFRS, FRS 102, USGAAP technical
accounting, plc exposure, judgement, and analytical ability.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver results to short
timescales.
Experience in GAAP to GAAP reconciliation.
Experience with International Audit Standards
Good communications with different levels of staff and across
different teams
Able to work both independently and with various teams in the
organisation
High level of integrity and positive attitude
