The post of Lecturer in Photography will support delivery of the Bournemouth University validated programme based at our Salisbury campus within the outstanding department of Creative Arts & Media. The Lecturer in Photography will take on the Programme Lead for the BA Photography course and contribute to the growth of photography provision and pathways in the department. You will have relevant, up-to-date industry experience in Photography with ongoing professional practice activities and specialist knowledge of critical debates that inform current contemporary photographic practice. Your expertise in photography should cover technical, digital and creative photographic processes, and evidence a passion for enabling students to produce innovative and high-quality content. Our HE courses produce award-winning work and we are looking for a talented and ambitious person who can contribute to our growing university level provision.
Our courses focus on a personalised, student-centred approach preparing individuals to work in the Creative Industries in the future. We welcome applications from candidates who possess an undergraduate degree in Photography and a teaching qualification, a postgraduate degree is desirable. It is essential for candidates to have experience of degree level delivery of teaching and assessment. The post holder will be required to help students develop the core skills and fundamental knowledge associated with this subject, inspiring students with varied and relevant teaching through studio practice and in supervising dissertations, 1-1s, seminars and supporting students with industry projects and competitions. You will have strong organisational skills, expertise in planning, developing and delivering teaching and learning across a range of theory and practical photography modules.
We are interested in hearing from individuals who are effective team players, keen to build relationships which can enrich the student experience, participate in building networks for work placements, and have the desire to work collaboratively with the immediate and wider Creative team.
