Job Description :

Our client, a leading national housebuilder is recruiting for a Materials Controller in Rochester, Kent.

Duties include:
  • Manage the day to day logistics of deliveries, arranging delivery timings, etc
  • Attend weekly sub-contractor meetings
  • Prepare monthly stock check of materials on site.
  • Liaise with Buyer to identify materials requisitions
  • Prepare delivery schedules and ensure these are included within orders.
  • Check daily material stock levels and ensure materials are called off in a timely manner to meet the planned installation dates.
  • Assist Site Management with the preparation of waste management strategy
  • Ensure that materials storage and distribution is organised and compliant
  • Ensure all materials are stored and protected in accordance with current best practice
  • Ensure all required materials are planned and called off in accordance with the required programme
  • Assist Site Management in the preparation of materials schedules
  • Complete materials and plant call off
  • Communicate delivery schedule to site team
  • Distribute materials on site in accordance with works package schedule. Requirements:
    • Liaise with materials suppliers to achieve required delivery date, taking lead times into consideration
    • Previous experience working for a housebuilder or main contractor within a storeman or materials controller role
    • Building knowledge (through site production experience & materials control)
    • Strong knowledge of building materials
    • Be well planned and organised
