We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer (JavaScript) with excellent technical skills to join the Dotstar Squad in our Gaming tribe. Dotstar is dedicated to the development and maintenance of our bingo, casino and poker sites. As a Senior member of the team you will help to build, develop and maintain sites which are used by thousands of customers every day. You will act as a role model and support / mentor other members of the squad, to develop and improve their technical skills and ability. The team is a mixture of technology specialists in both front and back-end development.

What you will do...

Strong JavaScript skills would be a distinct advantage, as well as experience using Next JS or similar frameworks.

Our primary focus are the portal sites, which use React heavily, but we also work on PHP frameworks and other bespoke code bases so experience with working with legacy systems is a distinct advantage.

We use technology such as docker and Jenkins to support our development work and host on a mixture of dedicated Linux servers and AWS.

Exposure to Linux, Git, AWS & MySQL would be beneficial.

We interface with a wide range of third-party data and internal endpoints and APIs using various technologies including GraphQL.

Work well with everyone involved in the development lifecycle, so excellent communication skills are essential and an understanding of large Agile team dynamics.

Turn requirements into performant web applications and systems using a variety of industry standard technologies.

Develop a deep understanding of the existing products and services so that you can help maintain and improve the product we offer our customers.

Support and mentor other members of the squad to help improve their skills and abilities to ensure we continue to be a high performing team.

Continue to learn and grow your own skills through retrospective insight and critical evaluation of the work we do and how we do it.
