Job Description :

Randstad are recruiting for a Technical Clerk for a client based in Clevedon. They are a global company that specialises in manufacturing Special Purpose Machinery and are doubling their production over the course of this year.

Purpose of the role and main duties
  • Create and maintain Declarations of Conformity.
  • Arrange and coordinate the translations of all documentation, raising eReqs as required.
  • Manage queries from suppliers of printed manuals, labels and translations.
  • Publish documentation to the appropriate locations.
  • Maintain the accuracy of all technical publication databases/records.
  • Communicate changes to the documentation 'Q' packs to Product Data Management and the engineering teams, to ensure that BOMs are correct.
  • In consultation with the Documentation Manager and team Leads, allocate resources to projects and monitor resource requirements.
  • Work with the Documentation Manager to improve departmental processes (continuous improvement).
  • Raise part numbers for documentation in SAP.
  • Maintain the documentation EC (Engineering Change) log and report weekly.
  • Raise and obtain authorisation for ECs, and progress ECs through to the final sign-off, to facilitate the closure of the ECs.
  • Raise and obtain authorisation for permits for documentation as required, to allow on-time shipping of products. Knowledge, skills and experience required
    • Qualified to HNC/HND in mechanical or electromechanical engineering; appropriate time served apprenticeships will be considered.
    • At least two years experience as a technical clerk in an engineering/manufacturing environment. Functional Competencies:
      • Ability to work to deadlines.
      • Methodical and logical work, showing accuracy and attention to detail, and demonstrating the ability to work using own initiative with good organisation and consistency of process adherence.
      • Excellent people skills - able to influence others, work in a team, foster collaboration and facilitate meetings and other activities that may aid the production and delivery of effective technical publications.
      • Good presentation skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of people from various disciplines and levels of seniority. Must be diplomatic in working with staff at all levels, understanding their commercial priorities.
      • Good written English.
      • An understanding of different formats and delivery methods for all types of documentation would be beneficial. Technical skills:
        • An excellent working knowledge and recent use of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Project. Any skills in the following areas are also beneficial:
          • Use of Microsoft SharePoint
          • Use of Microsoft Teams
          • Use of Power BI This is a permanent position with a salary of £27,000-£32,000 + a 7.5% annual bonus and other benefits.
